About the event

Do you know what a naturalist is? Naturalists are curious observers of the natural world, people who study plants, animals, land, and water by slowing down, paying attention, and asking thoughtful questions. Their work has shaped science, art, conservation, and how we understand our place in nature.

Join us for a hands-on Library Nature Lab where children and families will explore what it means to be a naturalist and learn about the powerful contributions of African American naturalists, scientists, and observers of the natural world, past and present, in celebration of Black History Month.
